The Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) has been overseen by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Government of Pakistan, starting from 1976. Throughout its existence, numerous international students have achieved their academic qualifications through this program. MOEA has allocated the following seats to the Government of Nepal for nominating their own nationals only, for the forthcoming session, 2023-24:

- D. Pharmacy: 8
- B.Sc. Engineering: 6

Admission Criteria
- Must be recommended by the respective government.
- Seats for foreign students are available in the institutions throughout Pakistan and the placement of students is done by MOEA on the basis of merit, choice of the students and the availability of slots. Moreover, institutions are not bound to entertain the students after expiry of their prescribed deadline.
- The general eligibility/final selection of students will be made by the institutions concerned keeping in view their admission criteria.
- Eligibility of students in terms of equivalence of certificates and grades will be determined by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad. Concerned Embassies students are bound to submit their equivalence certificates issued by IBCC, Islamabad along with their application forms.
- The students admitted under PTAP will be required to pay the prescribed fee applicable under the Program to the institution concerned. Expenses on traveling. boarding & lodging etc. are also to be borne by students themselves.
- Migration from one institute to another shall be governed by the relevant policy of the institutions concerned.
- Exemption from tuition fee and other dues will be dealt as per policy of the institutions concerned.
Required Documents
- Certificates/Marks Sheets of HSSC examination / or equivalent examination
- Recent photograph passport size (4 copies)
- Copies of Passport of the applicant
- Equivalence Certificate by the Secretary, Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Islamabad.
- Undertaking by those candidates applying for admission in Medical and Dental
- Colleges of Pakistan to the effect, that they are not already studying in any other
- Medical/Dental college of Pakistan at the time of applying for PTAP seat
The confirmation of admissions by the Ministry of Economic Affairs is a crucial prerequisite for foreign candidates to obtain a student visa from the relevant Pakistan Mission abroad. It is essential that candidates adhere to this requirement and come to Pakistan solely on the authorized student visa.
The Missions are requested to nominate the candidates in order of priority as per their respective quota along with equal number of alternate candidates (to be considered for replacement if needed) for consideration under PTAP. The applications must be submitted on the prescribed format along with attachments as listed at Para-04/above to Section Officer (PTAP), Room 505, Economic Affairs Division, "C" Block Pak Secretariat, Islamabad as per the deadlines mentioned at Para-01/above. No request will be entertained for replacement of students and change of technology or institution and all replacements will be made from the list of alternate candidates provided by the missions along with that of the main candidates. The concerned embassy is requested to strictly follow the deadline and settle their matters with in stipulated time frame.
