Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and schools participating in the partnership program announce scholarships for the students from deprived communities to study from Class 5.

The full residential and partial scholarship covers students studying from grade 5 onwards in Budhanilkantha School and 6 partner schools. One student will be chosen from each district for each partner school.

Students can compete for 20 open seats and 20 seats under reservation (endangered community - 2, Dalit - 4, Muslim - 1, Madhesi - 4, Indigenous - 5, Backward region - 2, and War affected - 2) 

Eligibility for Scholarship 

  • Born in 2068 BS or 2069 BS, students should have been enrolled at the local community school for at least 2 years. 
  • The students should have enrolled in grade 4 in the year 2078 BS.

Scholarships Seats Details

  • Open and reserved seats for Budhanilkantha School: 42 (50% female)
    • In the open and reservation category, 40 students will be selected with only one student from a district.
    • Reservation seats: 20 (Endangered: 2, Dalit: 4, Muslim: 1, Madhesi: 4, Adivasi / Janajati: 5, Backward Area: 2 and Armed-Conflict Victims: 2),
    • Within the local level Budhanilkantha municipality where the school is located - 2 students (one male and one female).
  • A total of 77 students will be selected along with the partner schools with a provision of one student from one district (Reservation - Dalit: 5, Muslim: 2, Madhesi: 6, Janajati: 9 and at least 26 Girl students)

Requirements

  1. Duly filled application form along with the recommendation letters as specified.
  2. Recommendation letter from the ward office or any local authority illustration the reason for the backwardness of the student.
  3. Photocopy of the birth certificate provided by the local registrar.
  4. In the case of father and mother as patron, copies of both of their citizenship certificate is required. If the patron is neither father nor mother then the relationship certificate along with the copy of citizenship issued from the local authority is required.
  5. For scholarship under the reservation category, the candidates whose last name falls under the list made public by the Government of Nepal need to present a recommendation letter from the District Administration Office or any authorized body (National Federation of Indigenous Nationalities, National Dalit Commission, or Home Ministry) proving their association with the same group. 
  6. In the case of students applying from the backward rural region of the country, a recommendation letter from the respective ward office or local body declaring that they have been permanently residing the same region till now and the student has been enrolled in the local community school.
  7. Two passport-sized photos, where ears are visible. 

The eligible students are required to sit for the written exam and the parents are required to submit the required documents along with the filled application form to the examination team from Bushanilkantha School present at the respective exam centers before 10 am on exam day.

Curriculum for the Examination

  • Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and General knowledge from Class 3 and 4. 
  • *40% of the questions will be objective and 60% will be subjective
