Metropolitan Research Fellowship Program 2080 - Kathmandu Metropolitan

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC - Kathmandu Mahanagarpalika), in partnership with the Urban Planning Commission, is pleased to unveil the fourth edition of the Metropolitan Research Fellowship Program. Recognized as the Metropolitan Research Fellowship 2080, this initiative represents a pivotal stride in promoting research that influences urban development and informs policy-making in Kathmandu.

Applicants have the opportunity to submit their proposals online until 11:59 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024

The Kathmandu Metroplitan is being put into operation through policy research connected to numerous aspects of the metropolitan's growth, with the goal of promoting fact-based policy and finding projects related to urban development through action-oriented research.

Proposals for research on any of the following metropolitan area topics are encouraged:

  • History, Art, Tradition
  • Linguistics and Literature
  • Urban Planning and Architecture
  • Demographic and Sociological Research
  • Social Development and Education
  • Economic Development and Urban Finance
  • Poverty and Informal Sector Studies
  • Environmental and Disaster Management
  • Legal and Governance Issues
  • Innovations in Information and Communication

Minimum Qualification

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in research, teaching or similar thematic field.
  • Numbers: Ten
  • Reasearch Period: Six months
