 Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid JDS announces scholarship for Master’s study to the Nepalese Government officials.

The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) has been started in Nepal since 2015. Up to the present, total of 40 Fellows have been sent to Japan. JDS is now inviting potential applicants who understand its aims and are interested in 2 year master’s degree program at Japanese accepting universities for the academic year 2018-2019 The program will be instructed in English and the number of dispatches is 20 per year.

Eligibility:

NationalityCitizens of Nepal
AgeBetween 25 and 40 as of April 1st, 2018 (Born on/after April 2nd, 1977 and born on/before April 1st, 1993)
Academic BackgroundPosses a Bachelor Degree from universities authorized by the Government of Nepal or other countries. * Bachelor of Law is required for Kyushu University
Work Experience
  • Currently employed in the Target Organization as Gazetted official.
  • Have at least  three (3) years of work experience in civil service at the time of application.
English Proficiency
  • Have a good command of both written and spoken English.
  • IELTS 5.5 (with no sub-band under 5.0) / TOEFL score of 500 or higher is preferable (not requirement).
  • Those who have a qualified English score can be exempted from IELTS arranged by JDS Project Office.
Health ConditionMentally and physically in good health.
Ineligibility

A person falls under the following items is not eligible to apply

  • Those who are currently awarded or scheduled to receive another scholarship.
  • Those who have obtained a master’s or higher degrees overseas under the support of foreign government scholarship.
  • Military personnel registered on the active list or person on alternative military service.
Others
  • Successful Candidates are required to submit a pledge on the conditions deemed necessary as scholarship participants under the JDS Project.
  • JDS Fellows are obliged to return and serve the Government of Nepal at least five (5) years in order to make a contribution to the development of Nepal. (Following “THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT” in Nepal)
  • Competent women, Dalit, Janajatis, Madhesi, and other minority groups and persons with disability are encouraged to apply

1) Explanatory Seminars                                     

Explanatory Seminars in Kathmandu and Pokhara are scheduled to provide more detailed information on JDS Project and how to prepare application documents for prospective applicants as follows:

Kathmandu

·        September 1st (Bhadra 16) (Friday), 10:30-12:00/ 15:30-16:30 (Registration start 10:00/ 15:00) (Venue: 3F Subarna Hall in Ministry of Finance)

·        September 12th (Bhadra 27) (Tuesday), 10:30-12:00/ 15:30-16:30 (Registration start 10:00/ 15:00) (Venue: 3F Meeting room in Ministry of General Administration)

Pokhara

·        September 14th (Bhadra 29) (Thursday), 11:00-13:00 (Registration start 10:30) (Venue: Pokhara, Meeting hall of District Development Committee

2. Application Deadline: 

Deadline for application : 16th October

·        Application documents must be submitted to the department in charge of JDS Project in your organization.

·        The application documents should be sent from your organization to JICE JDS Project Office no later than October 27th (Fri), 2017
