Kathmandu University, School of Engineering calls for applications from students for exchange opportunities to TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences, Cologne) in Germany.
Under the framework of a joint project, “energizing higher education—renewable energy for economic transition (e-REET),” between Kathmandu University and TH Köln, students are offered exchange opportunities for PhD/Master's/Bachelor's degree. Two seats are available in total, and a possible third one is available subject to fund availability.
During your stay in Cologne, you will carry out research in line with your thesis work within the thematic boundary of renewable energy and economic development. Your research will be jointly supervised by Prof. Sunil Prasad Lohani at KU and Prof. Ramchandra Bhandari at TH Köln.
Offer
Duration: Up to three months within 2024
Tentative Stipend: 1200 €/month for PhD student and 850 €/month for Master and 750 €/month Bachelor students
Additional Benefits: Travel and Visa-related costs will be covered up to a maximum amount of 1500 €/person
Requirements
- You must be a registered student at Kathmandu University in any discipline
- You must be at least in the fourth year of your Bachelor's degree or enrolled in a Master's or PhD degree programme.
- Knowledge and research interest in or around the field of renewable energy
- For Masters and PhD students a good scientific writing skill
- A good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent English language

- Copy of Bachelor/Master degree certificates if you are a PhD student, copy of Bachelor degree certificate if you are a master student. Both Master's and Bachelor's students must provide self-information on grades in the previous semesters of the ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree.
The selection committee consists of e-REET project leaders and experts from ITT at TH Köln in Germany. You will hear the selection results via email (check your spam folder, too) about two weeks after the application deadline.
