Special Scholarship for Pre-Diploma, Diploma, PCL Technical 2081 - CTEVT

In accordance with the directives from the Technical Branch of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), as referenced by No. 317 dated 2081/04/21, No. 331 dated 2081/04/22, and No. 530 dated 2081/04/28, the Government of Nepal's budget and program for the fiscal year 2081/082 have allocated a total of 360 Scholarship Seats. These seats are designated for students from Dalit, Muslim, economically disadvantaged, and marginalized communities.

Out of these, 324 seats are available for Diploma/certificate-level programs, while 36 seats are reserved for pre-diploma level programs.

This announcement informs all eligible Nepali citizens that applications are now open for the entrance examination to study under the Special Scholarship Program, which offers free education in the different technical education programs.

This scholarship is for students from marginalized communities, including the 22 deprived indigenous nationalities recognized by the Government of Nepal—such as Bankariya, Baram, Bote, Chepang, Danuwar, Dhanuk, Hayu, Jhagad, Kisan, Kusunda, Lepcha, Majhi, Meche, Kuswadia, Raji, Raute, Satar, Sinsa (Lhomi), Siyar, Surel, Thami, and Thunam—as well as Haliya and Kamaiya.

Eligibility

Before Grading System

  • Programs Offered: All Diploma/Certificate Level Programs
  • Minimum Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the SLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized educational institution with compulsory subjects in Mathematics, English, and Science. Alternatively, candidates must have passed the related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level programs conducted by the Council, securing at least 68.33% of the total marks.

After Grading System

  • Programs Offered: Diploma/Certificate Level General Medicine and Medical Lab Technology Programs

  • Minimum Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the entrance examination or SEE with compulsory subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Science, achieving a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0. Alternatively, candidates must have passed the related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level programs conducted by the Council, securing at least 68.33% of the total marks.

  • Programs Offered: All Other Diploma/Certificate Level Programs Except Health Sciences

  • Minimum Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the entrance examination or SEE with compulsory subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Science, achieving a minimum GPA of 1.6 out of 4.0. Alternatively, candidates must have passed the related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level programs conducted by the Council, securing at least 68.33% of the total marks.

Required Documents

  1. Certified copy of Citizenship Certificate or Birth Registration Certificate proving Nepali Citizenship.
  2. Certified copy of Dalit Identity Card or Certificate issued by the National Dalit Commission, District Administration Office, or Municipal Office.
  3. Certified copy of Certificate issued by the Municipal Office or District Administration Office for Muslim applicants.
  4. Certified copy of Letter from the local authority recommending the applicant as economically disadvantaged.
  5. Certified copy of Letter from the relevant municipality for applicants from marginalized communities recognized by the Government of Nepal (including 22 indigenous ethnic groups, Haliya, and Kamaiya).
  6. Certified copies of SEE Mark Sheet, Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma Level Mark Sheet, Character Certificate, and Result of the test examination for the 29-month Technical SLC program.
  7. Certified copy of Migration and Equivalence Certificate for applicants who have completed their education through boards other than the SEE board of the Government of Nepal.
  8. Two recent passport-sized photographs (35x45mm) with a clear facial image.
  9. Certified copy of Local Body Letter for applicants who have changed their residence within six months prior to the publication of this notice.

Selection Process Details

  • Only those applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and submit a correctly completed application form within the designated timeframe will be eligible to sit for the entrance examination.
  • Educational institutions and offices are required to input application forms into the Web Based Online Integrated Training Management System (ITMS) provided by CTEVT. Admission symbols and cards will be issued only after the Office of the Controller of Examinations has approved the forms.
  • For applicants whose forms were entered online by educational institutions or offices within the designated period, the selection list and ranking will be based on the highest combined marks from the entrance examination and the SEE.
  • The ranking process will be as follows:
    1. 30% Weightage will be given to the marks from the entrance or SEE examination according to the Admission, Scholarship Distribution, and Enrollment Guidelines 2081 for Diploma and Certificate levels.

    2. 70% Weightage will be assigned to the marks obtained in the entrance examination, which includes 70 multiple-choice questions: 25 from Mathematics, 25 from Science, and 20 from English.

    3. Rankings will be determined by aggregating the marks from both the certificates and entrance examinations. To be included in the merit list, a minimum score of 35 marks is required.

    4. In the event of a tie in scores, the admission guidelines will be applied as outlined in the merit list.

  • The results, based on the highest marks, will be published in the Gorkhapatra National Daily and HERE. For programs other than Certificate Level General Medicine and Medical Lab Technology, the Technical Branch of the Council will recommend the institutions for candidate enrollment.

Additional Notes

  • Regarding Vacant Quota: If any allocated quota for a program remains unfilled, candidates from other categories or groups who have applied and were selected based on their highest marks will be chosen.

  • Regarding Registration: Enrolled candidates must complete the registration form according to the Admission Guidelines 2081 and submit all details to the respective CTEVT Province Office after entering them online in ITMS.

  • Additional Instructions:

    • Educational institutions and offices must collect properly filled application forms within the deadline and enter them into ITMS. A remuneration of Rs. 50/- per application will be provided only if the details are entered by the responsible staff of the institution or office.
    • After verifying and approving the application forms, educational institutions and offices must complete the online entry by 21st Bhadra 2081 and submit the sealed application forms to the Office of the Controller of Examinations by 30th Bhadra 2081 for result publication.
    • Candidates selected as main candidates through the entrance examination and enrolled in the designated educational institution will receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 3,500/-, an annual transportation allowance of Rs. 1,500/-, an annual clothing allowance of Rs. 2,500/-, and free hostel facilities for the duration of their training.
    • Students currently registered and studying in regular or other programs under CTEVT are not eligible for this scholarship. Applications from such students will be automatically canceled.
    • Classes for enrolled candidates will commence on Kartik 25, 2081 (November 10, 2024).
