The Chancellor's Office at Tribhuvan University, Research Directorate, Kirtipur announces the invitation for Collaborative Research Projects and Dissertation Grant Projects under the Research Endowment Fund of Tribhuvan University, as per the approved budget for 2080/81. This invitation is extended to all concerned parties.

The available research project grants and their quantities are as follows:

  • A) Collaborative Research Projects: 5 (five)
  • B) Thesis/Dissertation Research Grants:
    • Dissertation Research (PhD) - 18 (eighteen)
    • Dissertation Research (M.Phil) - 5 (five)
    • Dissertation Research (Post-graduate) - 50 (fifty)

Eligibility Criteria

For Collaborative Research Projects

For Post Graduate Level: Students in their third or fourth semester or the thesis year, who have achieved a minimum SGPA of 3.0 in the preceding semester.

For MPhil Level: Students in the second semester or thesis year.

For PhD Level: Students and researchers who are permanently with the university.

Thesis/Dissertation Research Grants

MPhil and PhD students and engaged in research at the post-graduation level studying in the university will be eligible. They must obtain a prior approval from the university.

It's important to note that research proposals submitted for this project should not have been submitted elsewhere. Principal researchers of research projects funded by the University Grants Commission, the Dean's Office, or other university bodies, as well as individuals on study leave, self-study leave, or stipend leave, are not eligible for this grant. Additionally, individuals who have already received dissertation research grants from other agencies are not eligible.

For research proposals in languages other than English, they must be written in English. Further guidelines and procedures for incomplete research proposals are outlined by the Research Directorate.
