The Ministry of Forests and Environment, under the Madhesh Province Government, has announced a grant program to support final-year Bachelor's and Master's students pursuing degrees in Forestry Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, and related fields. This initiative aims to encourage research that aligns with environmental and resource management goals within Madhesh Province.
Eligibility and Submission Requirements
Eligible candidates must submit:
- A research proposal in the prescribed format.
- A recent resume of both the candidate and supervisor.
- A recommendation letter from the supervisor on official university letterhead.
- An official letter from the affiliated institution.
Submission Deadline and Process
- The last date for submission is January 26, 2025.
- Proposals can be sent electronically to thesiserantmofe2@smail.com or submitted manually.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their proposals at the Ministry.
Thematic Areas for Research
The proposals should focus on one or more of the following areas:
- Invasive species management
- Watershed management
- Climate change and REDD+
- Biodiversity conservation
- Forest land restoration
- Medicinal plants and forest-based industries
- Agroforestry and ecotourism
- Other related topics approved by academic institutions
Grant Details
- Master’s level: 10 students will receive up to NPR 70,000 each.
- Bachelor’s level: 20 students will receive up to NPR 60,000 each.
