Texas International College, located in Chabahil, recently concluded the Texas Bites Festival – Youth Vibes, an event organized by students of the Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM) program.
Designed with youth engagement in mind, the festival attracted a significant number of attendees, particularly students who had recently completed their higher secondary education. The event featured a mix of musical performances and food stalls, where BHM students showcased a variety of culinary creations.
One of the highlights of the festival was the live performance by the popular music band The Elements, which energized the crowd and added a vibrant musical atmosphere to the event.
Speaking about the purpose of such student-led initiatives, Campus Chief Shyam Sundar Shrestha noted, “We aim to equip students not only with academic knowledge but also with practical life skills and experiences. Events like these help develop teamwork, cultural tolerance, and entrepreneurial thinking.”
He further emphasized that beyond entertainment, festivals like this support students’ mental well-being, foster social connections, and contribute to career exploration. “Many students leave such events with fresh inspiration, be it for an academic project or a new passion,” he added.
According to him, cultural and musical events play a key role in reducing academic stress while promoting creativity, active participation, and personal expression through live music and collaborative activities. They also introduce students to potential career paths in music, hospitality, and event management.
Texas International College has a tradition of hosting similar events in the past. The college believes such programs offer students a platform to build confidence, express creativity, and strengthen their engagement with the broader community.
