Swostishree Gurukul Model United Nations (SGMUN) 5.0 concluded on June 21, 2026, marking the end of three days filled with debate, dialogue, and collaboration among more than 210 delegates representing over 30 schools from across Nepal.
Inside the committees, students moved from short opening remarks into active discussions, where each agenda gradually took direction through the exchange of views. Together, they worked on resolutions, drafting ideas into clauses and refining them through continuous discussion until a shared understanding emerged. The nature of engagement shifted from prepared speeches to direct dialogue, where listening and responding carried equal weight to speaking. By the end, students had not only engaged with key global issues in depth but also experienced how decisions are developed through discussion, patience, and collaboration.

The Closing Ceremony was graced by Her Excellency Ms. Sumnima Tuladhar, Ambassador of Nepal to the Kingdom of Denmark and the Nordic Region, as Chief Guest, and Mr. Kiran Man Chitrakar, distinguished photographer and former Deputy General Manager of Nepal Television, as Special Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Neha K.C., Principal of Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School, reflected on the continued growth of SGMUN, creating space for young leaders to grow into confident leaders, critical thinkers, collaborators, and changemakers. She further highlighted that Leadership is not taught through words alone: it is learned through experience, teamwork, research, problem-solving, and service to a larger purpose: which is also the core of IB values. She expressed her appreciation to the delegates, organizers, advisors, teachers, and partner institutions who contributed to the success of the conference.

In her keynote address, Her Excellency Ms. Sumnima Tuladhar encouraged students to embrace leadership rooted in empathy, service, and understanding. Drawing from her decades of experience in child rights advocacy, gender justice, and diplomacy, she reminded delegates that meaningful change begins when young people use their knowledge and opportunities to positively impact others.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding delegates across various committees, along with appreciation for the Dais panel, advisors, student organizers, and sponsors whose efforts contributed to the success of SGMUN 5.0.
The conference also acknowledged Chief Advisors Adhish Binod Pokharel and Cyiera Shuvangini Bazagai, alumni of Swostishree Gurukul, for their continued guidance and support throughout the event.
