Following the publication of the MECEE-BL merit list, the Medical Education Commission (MEC) of Nepal issues a notice for the Open House Matching process for foreign candidates. This applies to:
- Foreign Category I β Foreign nationals who have appeared in the MECEE-BL examination
- Foreign Sub-Category II β Foreign nationals who have not appeared in the MECEE-BL examination
Open House Matching for Foreign Category I (Foreign Candidates Who Appeared in MECEE-BL)
The Medical Education Commission prioritizes foreign candidates who have taken the MECEE-BL exam during the seat-matching process. Typically, one to two weeks after the publication of the MECEE-BL entrance results, MEC announces the schedule for the Open House Matching.
The matching process includes the following steps:
- Reporting and Biometric Verification
- Open House Matching Session
The venue for the matching process is usually the MEC Office, located in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Nepal.
Prior to the matching session, MEC publishes the list of available foreign-category seats on its official website.
Required Documents
Candidates must be physically present at the venue on the day of matching and should carry the following original documents:
- MECEE-BL Admit Card
- MECEE-BL Score Card
- Passport
- E-Aadhaar Card (if applicable)
- All original documents submitted during the online application process
Only candidates who fulfill these requirements and appear in person will be considered for seat matching as per the published merit list.
No candidate will be allowed to enter the hall after the open house matching session begins.
Candidates will be verified with the Biometrics attendance taken during the entrance examination, and the same will be sent to respective colleges.
The matched candidates are required to take admission in the respective University/Academy (NOT directly to the college).
B. Matching schedule for Foreign Sub-category II (Foreign NOT to appear MECEE-BL)
The open house matching for foreign candidates who had duly applied under Foreign Sub-category II (foreign NOT to appear MECEE-BL) will have to appear for the remaining foreign seats based on the score obtained in the national level common entrance examination of their respective country.
After the matching of the foreign candidates is done, the remaining vacant seats of MBBS/BDS or other health science programs will be converted into paying seats for Nepali candidates.
The merit list (rank) of the eligible candidates in Foreign Sub-category II will be published on the MEC website at a later date.
The candidates who submit fake documents will be rusticated during matching or even after admission and s/he will be liable for legal actions as per the prevailing rules and regulations of Nepal.
The respective Universities/Academies will hold the original certificates of matched foreign candidates until they are enrolled in the respective universities/institutes.
