The first-ever +2 edition of the National Cyber Olympiad-2081, organized by Prashikshan, has concluded on a high note at the Russian House, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, on 15th Falgun, 2081.
The National Cyber Olympiad is an inter-school quiz competition focused on information and communication technology (ICT). The competition aims to enhance students's knowledge and skills in ICT through a competitive platform.
A total of 24 competing teams participated in the two-day event managed by Paila Creation under the title sponsor of Techspire College. The event, featuring three phases: Qualifying, Semifinals, and Final, was participated by 72 students from 24 higher secondary-level colleges in Kathmandu Valley. Among them, four +2 college teams advanced to the final round.
Capital College and Research Center (CCRC) from Koteshwor, Kathmandu, secured the first position and succeeded in bagging a cash prize of NPR 30,000 along with a trophy, medals, certificates, and various other prizes.
Similarly, Kathmandu Model College (KMC), Bagbazar, claimed both the second and fourth positions in the competition, and it was awarded trophies, medals, certificates, and other gifts.
Likewise, the College of Business Management, Dillibazar, won third position in the competition and was honored with trophies, medals, certificates, and other gifts.
The competition featured multiple rounds, including General Knowledge, Curriculum-based Questions, Logical Reasoning, Multimedia, Defending, Gambling, and Gasping Rounds.
The closing ceremony at Russian House, Kamalpokhari was graced by Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, President of the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Sakanush Vanyan, Deputy Director of Russian House, and Prof. Dr. Subarna Shakya, Director of the IT Innovation Center, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University.
The event was primarily sponsored by Techspire College, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, with additional support from Russian House, iMart, Himalayan Nectar Honey, Maharshi College, Foodmandu, Pathao, Junior Entrepreneurship Circle, INI Cinema, PCPS College, Motor Sewa, and Bazar Ko Chirfar, among others.
Focusing on enhancing ICT knowledge among students, the competition successfully provided a platform for participants to update and expand their expertise in the field. Expressing his gratitude to all stakeholders, Mr. Laxman Pokhrel, Founder President of Prashikshan, announced that the competition will be further refined and expanded to all seven provinces of Nepal in the coming year. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony by the winning team from CCRC.
