Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School has signed MoU with the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) to strengthen psychosocial wellbeing, promote positive discipline, and foster counseling-informed teaching practices within its school community.
The partnership reflects the school's unwavering commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where the emotional, social, and academic wellbeing of every learner is valued. Through this collaboration, KUSOED will design and facilitate a series of capacity-building workshops for parents and teaching staff, drawing upon its expertise in education, counseling psychology, and wellbeing facilitation.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, Dean of the Kathmandu University School of Education and Ms. Neha K.C., Principal of Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School. The signing ceremony was witnessed by, Dr. Shree Krishna Wagle, Head of the School Counselling & Psychological Wellbeing Unit, and Mr. Shyam K.C., Student Agency & Engagement Co-ordinator at Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School, representing their respective institutions.
Under the agreement, KUSOED will conduct a total of various capacity-building workshops. The initiative comprises workshops for parents, each focusing on Identifying and Responding to Psychosocial Concerns of Students. Conducted in three separate batches, these sessions aim to equip parents with practical knowledge and strategies to better understand and support their children's emotional and psychosocial development.
The collaboration also includes professional development workshops for teachers on Integrating Counseling Skills in Everyday Teaching, Identifying and Responding to Psychosocial Concerns of Students, and Positive Discipline as Classroom Culture. These sessions are designed to strengthen teachers' ability to recognize students' psychosocial needs, integrate counseling-informed approaches into everyday classroom practice, and foster positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
This collaboration marks another important milestone in Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School's mission to provide holistic education that balances academic excellence with students' emotional and psychological wellbeing.
