Ministry of Education (MoE), Nepal has announced the names of best community and private schools across Nepal. Bagabazar based Kathmandu Model Secondary School and Tripureshwor based Viswa Niketan Secondary School has been selected as Outstanding school of Nepal on institutionalized and community school category respectively.
The schools will be awarded on the occasion of 38th National Education Day 2074 for their outstanding performance in the last academic session. The schools are judged on the basis of students performance in the examination, total number of enrolled students, area of operation among others. In the category of Grade 11 & 12, Kathmandu Model Secondary School scored 93.29 to acclaim the title of outstanding Secondary School among private institution whereas as Viswa Niketan Secondary School scored 78.23 and became the leader in public school category.
8th Sept:
Patan Appellate court directed Ministry of Education not to award schools which were selected from all over Nepal as outstanding schools based on student performance and other definite criteria. The award ceremony which is going to held today to recognize the contribution of such schools is postponed for indefinite period.

- Outstanding Community School in Grade 10 : Kalika Secondary School, Kalikanagar, Butwal
- Outstanding institutionalized (private sector) School in Grade 10: Bal Kalyan Bidhya Mandair Secondary School, Biratnagar
