Kathmandu, Feb 11 (RSS): The Vishwo Niketan School of Kathmandu has been announced country's first grade school among the community schools. It was the first grade in the category of 12 class result.
It was shared during a programme organized here on the occasion of the 38th National Education Day and the International Literacy Day Sunday.
The ace school got the national shield, national flag, and cash prize of Rs 200,000 along with a certificate letter.
Similarly, under the category of grade 10 results, Kalika Secondary School, Butwal, emerged the first out of the community schools, getting the cash prize of Rs 200,000, a letter of certificate and national shield and flag.
Those securing first position in the provincial level are- Barushneshwor Secondary School, Okhaldhunga (Province-1), Shreeom Secondary School, Rautahat (Province-1), Narayani Model Secondary School, Chitwan (Province-3), Bal Mandir Secondary School, Pokhara (Province-4), Shree Kanti Secondary School, Butwal, (Province-5), Shree Masto Saraswati Secondary School, Kalikot (Province-6) and Sitaram Secondary School, Doti (Provice-7). Each of these got the cash prize of Rs 100,000 and certificate letters and province shields.
Similarly, Mahabuddha Secondary School Yalabang of Humla was declared first grade school from among those in remote areas.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Gopal Man Shrestha, conferred the awards at the programme.
Even the colleges, technical schools and private schools standing first in the province level were declared at the programme.
On the occasion, DPM Shresthat informed that political restructuring was going on in the local, provincial and federal levels. So, even the education sector needs restructuring. The Education Ministry was doing needful to this regard, he added.
