Prime Minister Balen Shah, who also serves as Chancellor of universities, has appointed Vice-Chancellors at seven universities across Nepal.

On Friday, the Prime Minister appointed Professor Dr. Bhola Thapa as the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. Thapa is a former Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University and is expected to lead reform initiatives at Nepal’s largest and oldest university.
Along with Tribhuvan University, Vice-Chancellors have also been appointed at six other universities. Kisan Datta Bhatta has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Sudurpaschim University, Rajan Suwal at Mid-Western University, Rishiram Kattel at Agriculture and Forestry University, and Shyam Narayan Labh at Rajrshi Janak University.
Similarly, Devendra Adhikari has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara University, while Sujan Babu Marahatta has been named Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, one candidate was selected for each university from a shortlist of three recommended names. The newly appointed Vice-Chancellors are expected to assume office and begin their tenure in accordance with prevailing university regulations.
