Tribhuvan University Hosts 50th Convocation

Tribhuvan University (TU) celebrated its 50th convocation ceremony, conferring degrees upon 14,308 students out of a total of 74,149 students. The event was graced by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who also serves as the Chancellor of TU.

Held at Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwar, the ceremony saw the Prime Minister handing over degrees to PhD scholars and students who achieved top academic positions.

According to Puspa Raj Joshi, the Controller of Examinations at TU, the graduating class comprised 9,068 bachelor's degree recipients, 5,055 master's degree holders, 63 M.Phil graduates, and 122 PhD scholars.

The ceremony also included the awarding of various medals to students who excelled in their respective fields.

  • This year’s prestigious Shaheed Associate Professor Hariraj Acharya Gold Medal was awarded to Hira Shrestha from the Faculty of Management
  • The Shri Indrabhakta Shrestha Gold Medal was presented to Sudha Kafle from the School of Management.
  • The Amrit Medal to Sushil Pokharel from the Central Department of Chemistry.
  • The Madan Vidya Environmental Science Award to Rikhita Bhandari from the Central Department of Environmental Science.
  • The Nepal Bank Limited Sardar Gunjaman Singh Gold Medal and Ramkrishna Nhuchhe Pradhan Award to Revika Bhandari from Kathmandu Model College.
  • The Narendra Mani Acharya Dixit Gold Medal and Dr. Mohan Prasad Lakhe Gold Medal to Sudiksha Ghimire from Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus.
  • The Shanti Narayan Mishra Medal was awarded to Sanjeev Kumar Singh from the Central Department of Library and Information Science.
  • The Dr. Dubasu Kshetri Gold Medal was given to Pratik Raj Joshi from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy.
  • The Emirates Prof. Dr. Ramprasad Chaudhary Gold Medal went to Shreena Kshetri from the Central Department of Botany.
  • Chetana Kunwar from the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication received the Narayan Shanti Mishra Medal.
  • Srijya Kafle, a student from the Central Department of Economics, was honored with the Tarapad Chaudhary Medal, Khagendra Man Singh Pradhan Medal, and Chandra Raj Dhungel Memorial Award.
  • The Shilpa Bista Academic Excellence Award was presented to Sita Kumari Shrestha from the Central Department of Education.
