Tribhuvan University is planning to run masters level program in International relation and diplomacy from upcoming academic session. This program will be run in the premises of University campus, kirtipur and for the same purpose Tribhuvan University is soon opening a new department Central Department of international relation and diplomacy in the university campus premises kirtipur.
According to the officials involved in this process, the curriculum for the program is nearly finished and with consulation with foreign professors and diplomats and professors of political science, the final touch in the curriculum will be given soon. This program will be run on semester basis, and will be of 4 semester course with ample credit hours also focussed on practical knowledge and academic discourse. Officials are planning to introduce academic discourse, seminars and workshops about current international relations of Nepal, steps needed to strengthen the foreign policy and diplomacy of Nepal, and analytical discourse such as why Nepal foreign diplomacy is failed till date etc.
Officials will be taking with Ministry of foreign affiars and international relation for the job opportunities for its graduates, and also with Public Service commission (lok sewa aayog) to give emphasis for the recruitment of its graduates in foreign service.
Both Nepalese professors of political science departments, foreign professors and past and present diplomats will be involved in the whole process of grooming students of International relation and diplomacy course. Tribhuvan University will slowly introduce this course in bachelor level in upcoming years.
