Tribhuvan University Opens Call for Vice Chancellor

A recommendation and selection committee has been established for the crucial task of appointing the Vice Chancellor at Tribhuvan University. The committee has officially announced the commencement of the application process on Poush 20.

This move follows the government's earlier call for applications to fill the Vice Chancellor position. The government had initially invited applications through a prepared roster and subsequently released public information regarding the application process. However, the recent appointment of Dr. Dharma Kant Banskota as Vice Chancellor raised eyebrows as it was a departure from the established roster.

In the latest announcement, interested individuals are invited to submit their applications for the Vice Chancellor position at Tribhuvan University. The application submission location is the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology in Singh Darbar. The deadline for submitting applications is set at 10 days from the date of notice publication.

Eligible applicants must be Nepali citizens and are required to furnish copies of their citizenship certificates, personal details, educational qualifications up to postgraduate and doctoral levels, certified copies of appointment letters as professors, details of a minimum of three years of work experience in a university official position, and a certified copy of their understanding of the university.

Additionally, applicants are expected to submit a thought paper exceeding three thousand words, focusing on the university, and a professional work plan spanning at least four years, summarized in no more than five words.

This meticulous application process aims to ensure transparency and meritocracy in the selection of the next Vice Chancellor, a position of paramount importance in the academic landscape of Tribhuvan University.
