In a recent development, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has taken action to address the vacant position of Vice-Chancellor at Tribhuvan University. Rector Prof. Shiva Lal Bhusal has been assigned to assume the role of Vice-Chancellor on an interim basis, effective immediately.
The post had been unoccupied since November 2 when the four-year term of Prof. Dr. Dharma Kanta Baskota came to an end.
This appointment aligns with the provisions of the TU Act-2049 BS (1992), allowing for the appointment of an interim Vice-Chancellor for a maximum of three months. The decision was made to ensure the continuity of its operations while preparations for a permanent successor are underway.
