Three HEIs Adds to UGC QAA Accreditation List

The University Grants Commission (UGC) awarded accreditation certificates to three institutions during a ceremony held at the UGC Seminar Hall on Ashad 12, 2081. UGC Chairperson Prof. Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari handed over the accreditation certificates to the institutions. 

UGC Secretary Prof. Shankar Prasad Bhandari, Rector of Tribhuvan University Prof. Dr. Khadga KC, PRT Coordinator Prof. Dr. Govinda Prasad Acharya, Prof. Dr. Basu Dev Kafle, and Prof. Dr. Shiba Kumar Rai, PRT Member Prof. Dr. Leela Pradhan Joshi, authorities from accredited institutions and UGC officials attended the award ceremony.

Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus was founded in 2019 B.S. It is situated in Gandaki Province, Baglung Municipality-2, Baglung. Campus is a constituent campus of the Tribhuvan University. The campus offers Bachelor's programs in B.Sc., B.Ed., BA, BBA and BBS, and Master programs in MA, M.Ed. MBS. The institution embarked on its re-accreditation journey by submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI) on Magh 18, 2074. Subsequently, its Self-Study Report (SSR) received approval on Poush 27, 2076.

Among the awardees, Kalika Multiple Campus, located in Pokhara-14, Kajipokhari, Kaski, was founded in 2048 B.S. with affiliation to Tribhuvan University as a community-based educational institution. It offers Bachelor's Programs in B.B.S, B.A., and B.Ed. and Master's programs in MBS and M.A. The institution initiated its accreditation journey by submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI) on Kartik 23, 2078, and got its SSR approved on Bhadra 17, 2079.

St. Xavier's College, established in 2045 B.S., is a private institution located in Kathmandu—11. It is affiliated with Tribhuvan University; the campus offers academic programs at the Bachelor's and Master's levels in BA, BBS, BIM., B.Sc., MBS, and M.Sc. programs. The accreditation journey began with submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI) and its acceptance on Mangsir 29, 2078. The campus's Self-Study Report (SSR) was accepted on Poush 01, 2079.

Each institution embarked on its accreditation journey by submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI) and subsequently went through several stages, including approving their Self-Study Report (SSR), forming Peer Review Teams (PRT), undergoing assessment visits, i.e., preparatory assessment visit and Final PRT Visit, and submitting a response report based on the recommendation provided during the assessment. 

The follow-up visits to Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus and Kalika Multiple Campus were made during the process after receiving the response report. 

Following this, the Educational Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (EQAAC) recommended that the UGC Board award accreditation to the institution. The UGC Board decided to award accreditation to the Kalika Multiple Campus on Jestha 02, 2081, and the other two institutions on Ashad 06, 2081.
