Team Visions Triumphs in Hult Prize Challenge at Khwopa College of Engineering

In a compelling showcase of innovation and commitment to social impact, Team Visions, comprised of three students from Khwopa College of Engineering, secured victory in the Hult Prize competition held on February 17, 2024. The event, hosted on the college premises, witnessed the participation of 12 teams, each presenting inventive solutions to address the 2024 challenge: Unlimited.

The Hult Prize, a global initiative, empowers youth to establish sustainable enterprises that tackle critical global issues. The 2024 challenge, Unlimited, envisions a world where everyone, regardless of background or circumstances, has access to the opportunities needed for success. Announced by former U.S. President Bill Clinton at the Global Finals event in Paris, the challenge prompted teams worldwide to devise impactful solutions.

Team Visions stood out by proposing a platform connecting skilled housewives or women with businesses, allowing them to leverage their time and generate income. The team impressed judges with their comprehensive market research, robust business model, profound social impact, and adept presentation skills. As winners, they earn the chance to represent Khwopa College of Engineering at the Hult Prize regional summit in June 2024. There, they will compete against teams from across the globe for a coveted spot in the global finals and a chance to win the grand prize of USD 1 million.

Protozoa Host, a leading web hosting and domain registration company in Nepal, and Nomor Tech, a digital marketing and software development agency, sponsored the event. The panel of judges featured industry leaders, including Raj Bikram Maharjan, CEO and co-founder of Galli Maps, Nikita Jalan, CEO and co-founder of Petmama Nepal, Niraj Bhatta, co-founder and CEO of Bibaabo.com, and Jatin Bhusal, CEO and co-founder of Ester Nepal.

Abi Shrestha, Campus Director of Hult Prize at Khwopa College of Engineering, expressed pride in Team Visions and all participants. Gratitude was extended to sponsors, judges, mentors, volunteers, and the college administration for their unwavering support. The hope is that such events will inspire more students to pursue entrepreneurial dreams and contribute positively to the world.
