The School of Management, Tribhuvan University (SOMTU) has officially launched its Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Business Management (PGDSBM), a groundbreaking program designed to cultivate leaders capable of steering businesses towards profitability while upholding social and environmental responsibility.
The grand launch event, held recently, saw a distinguished gathering of national and international figures, underscoring the program's significance in today's evolving business landscape. Dr. Danielle Meuwly, Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the crucial role of sustainable practices in fostering long-term economic prosperity.
Professor Dr. Mahananda Chalise, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University (FOMTU) and Chairman of the SOMTU Governing Board, highlighted the program's alignment with global sustainability goals. Professor Dr. Dilli Raj Sharma, Former Dean of FOMTU; Mr. Michael Jongeneel, CEO of FMO; Mr. Upendra Paudel, Chairman of the ESG Advisory Committee; Associate Professor Dr. Govinda Tamang, Director of SOMTU; and Professor Dr. Marcos Eguiguren Huerta, Associate Provost of UPF BSM, also addressed the audience, reinforcing the importance of integrating economic, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into business strategies.
Assistant Professor Phul Prasad Subedi, Deputy Director of SOMTU, expertly navigated the event as the Master of Ceremony.
