In a stunning display of cybersecurity prowess, Softwarica College emerged as the undisputed champion at THREAT CON 2023's highly anticipated Capture the Flag (CTF) Competition. The event, now in its fifth year, solidified THREAT CON's status as a leading platform for cybersecurity and hacking enthusiasts, drawing participants from diverse backgrounds.

Under the expert management of ThreatNix, THREAT CON 2023 carries the torch of globally renowned security events like Black Hat and DEF CON. It underscores the unwavering commitment to advancing cybersecurity solutions and fostering knowledge exchange in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

A total of 38 teams, representing educational institutions and IT companies, poarticipated in the competition. However, it was Softwarica College, based in Kathmandu and renowned for its undergraduate programs in Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity, that stole the spotlight by claiming all five prestigious titles.

The victorious team from Softwarica College received a cash prize of NPR 10,000. Moreover, they earned the illustrious Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification, valued at a remarkable $1,599.

The second-place team also enjoyed their moment of recognition, taking home a cash prize of NPR 7,500. Additionally, they were awarded the coveted Hack The Box (HTB) 1 Year VIP+ access, a package valued at $203. Furthermore, two team members secured HTB 6 months VIP subscriptions, adding a combined value of $168.

The third-place team secured a cash prize of NPR 5,000, alongside the valuable Hack The Box (HTB) 1 Year VIP+ access, worth $203. They, too, benefited from HTB 6 months VIP access, with a cumulative value of $84.

This momentous event not only showcased the exceptional talent residing within Softwarica College but also highlighted the importance of such competitions in Nepal. Regularly hosting such challenges is poised to empower the country's youth with vital cybersecurity expertise gained through practical exposure. This, in turn, will hone their problem-solving abilities, deepen their comprehension of security principles, and better prepare them for real-world cybersecurity challenges.
