Prime Minister and Chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU), KP Sharma Oli, has appointed Rector Prof. Dr. Khadga KC as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university.
The decision was made following the resignation of former Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, whose resignation was officially approved on April 10, 2025. With the position left vacant, Rector KC has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading TU for a period of three months.
This temporary appointment is in accordance with Clause 21 of the Tribhuvan University Act, 2049, which authorizes the Chancellor to designate an acting Vice Chancellor in the absence of a permanent office bearer.
Dr. KC, who has served as Rector of Tribhuvan University, will now oversee the administrative and academic responsibilities of the institution until a new Vice Chancellor is formally appointed.
