The 14th Convocation Ceremony of Purbanchal University concluded on April 21, 2026, in the presence of the Education Minister and the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Bijukumar Thapaliya.
A total of 4,652 students from Purbanchal University graduated during a convocation ceremony held on Tuesday. These graduates were among the 6,706 students who completed their M.Phil, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees by January 1, 2026 (Poush 16, 2082 BS).

During the ceremony, 21 students who achieved outstanding marks across various faculties were honored with gold medals. The awards were presented by Education Minister Pokharel, alongside the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Vivek Lal, Director of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India, and the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Bijukumar Thapaliya.
Established in 1995 (2052 BS), Purbanchal University has evolved into a vital hub for higher education in eastern Nepal. The university currently maintains a significant academic presence with an enrollment of over 37,000 students across its various programs.
