A committee has been established to propose candidates for the role of vice chancellor at Tribhuvan University. The announcement of the shortlist took place on Magh 25, 2080, based on the applicants' personal information.
As stated by the committee, the names of Kushum Shakya, Keshar Jung Baral, Govind Subedi, Chitrabahadur Budhathoki, Gyanendra Prasad Paudel, Tankanath Dhamala, Teertharaj Khaniya, Narayan Prasad Belbase, and Prakash Ghimire have been publicly disclosed. Similarly, Bhojraj Aryal, Mahendra Prasad Sharma, Ramchandra Basnet, Shivalal Bhusal, and Surya Bahadur Thapa's names have also been revealed.
Among the candidates announced, there is a former vice chancellor, the current vice chancellor, and several former vice chancellors from other universities. However, the shortlist for the Vice-Chancellor position at Tribhuvan University does not include some names that were previously discussed as potential candidates.
Following the protocol, a provision has been made to publicly announce the names of up to 15 individuals, or one-third of the applicants, whichever is greater. These individuals are now required to submit their vision papers and business plans.
According to the committee, interviews for the shortlisted candidates are scheduled for Magh 29, and Falgun 1 and 2. For this purpose, they are expected to be present at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology at 3 PM. A total of 43 individuals had submitted applications for the Vice-Chancellor position at Tribhuvan University.
