Prof. Dr. Sharada Thapaliya has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Agriculture and Forestry University. The decision was made following a recommendation from the selection committee, which carried out a rigorous evaluation and shortlisting process to identify the most suitable candidate for the role.
Prof. Dr. Thapaliya, a veterinarian with over 25 years of professional experience, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position. Her diverse background spans livestock research, education, public-private partnerships, livestock industry development, and project coordination and management. She has been a key figure in implementing various international development projects in education, livestock, agriculture, and food security, making her an exceptional choice for the role.
Prior to her appointment, Prof. Dr. Thapaliya served as the Registrar of Agriculture and Forestry University, where she played a crucial role in administrative and academic advancements.
Prof. Dr. Thapaliya succeeds Prof. Dr. Punya Prasad Regmi, who previously held the post. With her appointment, she becomes a prominent figure in Nepal’s agricultural and academic sectors, carrying forward the university’s mission of advancing education, research, and development in agriculture and forestry.
