Prime Minister and Chancellor of National Academy of Science and Technology ( NAST ) Sushil Koirala has appointed Prof Dr Jeevraj Pokharel of Lubhu, Lalitpur the vice-chancellor of the NAST . NAST vice-chancellor Pokharel has been appointed for a four-year term.
The appointment was made on the basis of the recommendation made by a committee formed under the leadership of the Minister for Science, Technology and Environment.
The committee comprised National Planning Commission vice-chair Dr Govinda Pokharel and Environment Secretary Dr Krishna Chandra Poudel, informed PM's press coordinator Prakash Adhikari.
The Environment Minister is the ex-officio co-chancellor of the Academy. The Environment Ministry is presently a portfolio assumed by Prime Minister Koirala himself.
