Former Vice Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University TU), Prof Dr Madhav Sharma has passed away at the Kathmandu Model Hospital in the capital city this morning. He was 75. Suffering from pneumonia, Sharma was admitted to the hospital last week.
A renowned scholar originally from Dhankuta district, Prof Dr Sharma was also the former president of the advisory council of Intellectual Council.
The last rites of Prof Dr Sharma were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Bahadur Rawal, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Yeknath Dhakal, former VC of TU Prof Dr Hira Bahadur Maharjan and others reached the Pashupati Aryaghat to pay their last tributes to the late Prof Dr Sharma.
