Mid-West University has been issued a 15-day ultimatum by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to provide information on the institution's academic, financial, physical, and administrative details.
After receiving a complaint regarding the advertisement process related to affiliation and accreditation from the said university, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed his dissatisfaction and instructed to investigate and find out the truth.
The Prime Minister's Office has provided written instructions to gather information on various aspects of the university, including the current status of its affiliated campuses, the total number of faculty and staff members, the income and expenses, the state of physical assets and structures, the proposed topics and decisions passed by the 12th University Assembly, and official decisions related to the revision of regulations.
Furthermore, the letter signed by Shalikram Phuyal, a branch officer of the Prime Minister's and Council of Ministers' Office, has indicated that the advertisement process for university affiliations and posts has been immediately suspended until further instructions are received from the Prime Minister's Office.
Following the instructions from the Prime Minister's Office, the university has declared that the affiliation process has been postponed until Jestha 20. In the university's public notice, it is stated that the necessary decisions regarding the process will be made only after consultation with civil society, professors, students, representatives of government bodies, and other stakeholders.
