A pre-primary school curriculum development workshop was conducted from Chaitra 20 to 22 in collaboration with the National Private and Boarding Schools' Association Nepal (National PABSAN) and the Continuing and Professional Education Center (CPEC) of Kathmandu University.
The workshop brought together pre-primary education experts, private school founders, and Kathmandu University professors to modernize and enhance the pre-primary curriculum. Discussions centered on innovative teaching methods, contemporary educational theories, effective use of learning materials, and promoting holistic child development.
Education experts and esteemed professors from Kathmandu University offered insights on designing an age-appropriate curriculum for children aged 0 to 8, aligned with Nepal's ECD framework. The workshop also included discussions on reviewing the existing private school curriculum and developing targeted programs for specific age groups: 2–3, 3–4, 4–5, 5–6, 6–7, and 7–8 years.
Participants engaged in educational research, motivational sessions, and interactive activities aimed at enhancing Nepal's pre-primary education system. The proposed curriculum, jointly developed by National PABSAN and Kathmandu University, will be submitted to the Curriculum Development Center for approval. Additionally, National PABSAN plans to launch a training-of-trainers program and provide essential teacher training to support nationwide implementation.
