The 25th General Assembly of Pokhara University has passed a policy and program along with a budget of Rs. 1.54 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli, was held today at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. It approved proposed amendments to various regulations, including the University’s Teachers and Staff Regulation, 2055 (B.S.), Financial Regulation, 2055, and the Service Commission and Appeals Committee Regulation, 2057.
In the meeting, Chancellor Oli emphasized the need to run the university as a research-oriented and competitive institution, stressing that it is important to prove that quality higher education is possible within the country.
Pro Chancellor and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Raghuj Pant, urged the university to focus on producing human resources required for the 21st century.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bed Raj KC, while presenting the policy and program, expressed the university’s commitment to utilizing its available resources effectively and providing education that meets global market demands.
The university currently operates four constituent campuses under four faculties, three joint constituent colleges, and 58 affiliated colleges, offering 68 academic programs with a total of 34,679 students enrolled.
