Bhavishya Nirman Secondary School, located in Kristi of Kaski's Pokhara Metropolitan City-21, has recently introduced the "My School, My Annual Thousand Rupees" campaign. This campaign seeks to garner support from the local community to contribute financially to the sustenance and growth of educational institutions.
Under the leadership of Kamal Kumar Bhujel, Chairman of the School Management Committee, the foundation observed its 71st annual celebration, announcing a pledge to provide annual financial assistance of one thousand rupees to the school for as long as he lives. The gesture was met with enthusiasm as 53 parents promptly joined the initiative, demonstrating a collective commitment to the cause.
Chairman Bhujel emphasized the significance of community support in overcoming the challenges associated with running educational institutions, particularly in the absence of adequate government assistance. The campaign sets an ambitious goal of collecting ten lakhs rupees annually, with the overarching aim of ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to financial constraints.
Furthermore, the foundation has expanded its efforts beyond mere financial contributions. It has initiated bus services to facilitate student's access to education, with plans to enhance these services using funds generated from the campaign. The endowment fund, established to support such endeavors, has already accumulated sixty lakh rupees through community contributions.
Jhapindra Raj Regmi, the coordinator of the Endowment Fund Growth Committee, highlighted the campaign's impact, citing the support provided to local youths engaged in employment abroad and various entrepreneurial ventures. The campaign's long-term goal is to amass a staggering one crore rupees in the endowment fund, ensuring sustained support for educational initiatives in the region.
The dedication of Pokhara Metropolitan City to the advancement of education is further underscored by ongoing infrastructure developments, including road construction projects to improve access to schools in rural areas. Notably, the school, established in 2009, has grown significantly, currently accommodating over 450 students in the 10+2 level. The school has four concrete buildings employing 21 dedicated teachers.
Deputy Mayor Manjudevi Gurung of Pokhara Metropolitan City, attending the 71st annual celebration as the Chief Guest, symbolized the city's commitment by transferring Rs. 51,055 to the school's endowment fund. This gesture exemplifies the collaborative effort between local authorities and educational institutions to foster academic excellence and community development.
