Pokhara Metropolitan City has offered scholarships to SEE graduates to pursue their higher education. The Metropolitan City has decided to provide free scholarships to 497 students for their Grade 11 studies across various subjects.
The scholarship examination was held on Saturday, after which 162 students in Science, 201 in Management, 80 in Hotel Management, and 14 in Law, Humanities, and Education were selected to receive the scholarship. A total of 497 meritorious students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and underserved communities have been granted free scholarships.
The examination booklets were checked using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology. The Metropolitan City conducts selection exams annually. Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya stated that the Metropolitan City will further facilitate the admission of successful students to designated schools for free study.
"This year, to make the scholarship selection exam more organized, dignified, and reliable, OMR technology was also used for checking," Acharya said.
The Metropolitan City has urged the successful students to contact the Education Division by July 9th (Asadh 25) to proceed with their admission process. He also mentioned that concerned schools have been instructed to compulsorily admit students recommended by the Metropolitan City.
