PM KP Sharma Oli expanded the Cabinet, Giriraj Mani Pokharel is Minister for Education

Kathmandu, March 16 (RSS): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expanded the Cabinet for the second time with some reshuffle.  

President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers at Shitwal Niwas this evening. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expanded the Cabinet, adding new members to the Council of Ministers on Friday.

The newly appointed ministers and state ministers were administered the oath of office by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas amid an official function.

 

The name list of new ministers are as follows:

Ministers From CPN-UML

  1. Gokarna Bista, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security
  2. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali: Minister for Foreign Affairs
  3. Rabindra Adhikari, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation
  4. Jagat Bishwakarma, Minister for Youth and Sports
  5. Raghubir Mahaseth, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport
  6. Sher Bahadur Tamang, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs

Giriraj Mani Pokhrel: Minister for Education


From CPN Maoist Centre

  1. Barsha Man Pun, Minister for Energy, Hydropower and Irrigation
  2. Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Minister for Education, Science and Technology
  3. Bina Magar, Minister for Drinking Water
  4. Shakti Basnet, Minister of Forest and Environment 
  5. Chakrapani Khanal, Minister for Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives

Moreover, Gokul Baskota has been appointed the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, Padma Aryal the Minister of State for Health and Population, Dhan Bahadur Budha the Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Ram Kumari Chaudhari the Minister of State for Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives.

Meanwhile, Minister for Environment and Science Lal Babu Pandit has been assigned the new role of Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration. 

Present on the occasion were Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshi, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, leaders and cadres of CPN (UML) and CPN (MC), chiefs of constitutional bodies, and of diplomatic missions. 

Earlier on February 26, Prime Minister Oli had inducted Ishwor Pokharel as Defense Minister, Ram Bahadur Thapa as Home Minister, Matrika Yadav as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Dr Yubraj Khatiwada as the Finance Minister in his cabinet. 

The PM Oli administered the oath of office and secrecy to the state ministers.
