The Rudraraj Literary Service Committee has bestowed this year's educational honor upon the distinguished educationist Professor Shankar Raj Pathak. Having entered the field of education in 2016 as the Principal of Saraswati College in Kathmandu, Professor Pathak has adeptly fulfilled crucial responsibilities, including being a founding member, secretary of the Nepal Teachers' Association, and vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University.
Professor Pathak has been awarded a certificate of honor and a cash prize of NPR 50,000 in recognition of his contributions. The committee has also extended special recognition to the monthly magazine for educators. During the program on Sardar Rudraraj Pandey's 124th birth anniversary, the committee honored Dr. Gaurishankar Lal Das for his exceptional contributions to medicine and human rights.
Established in 2044, the committee annually recognizes individuals or organizations making significant contributions in education, literature, history, and spirituality while celebrating Rudraraj Pandey's birth anniversary. In this context, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, the former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, highlighted the pivotal role played by the erudite scholar Pandey in advancing modern education and emphasized the need for collective efforts to instill knowledge of our proud history into the younger generation.
In his remarks, Professor Mathema stated, "In Nepali society, there is currently unhealthy competition in providing superficial news. Such incomplete news, lacking in-depth analysis of events, hinders the development of an informed society. It is essential to collectively strive to impart a sense of pride in our glorious history to the younger generation."
During the program, discussions were held on the challenges observed by Professor Triratna Manandhar, Prof. Dr. Mohan Prasad Lohani, Committee Chair Dr. Badri Raj Pandey, Secretary Dr. Neel Pandey, and the honored personalities Das, Pathak, and Dahal, shedding light on Sardar Pandey's multifaceted personality and the challenges faced in Nepal's education sector.
