The Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the Parliament has taken a proactive step in shaping the future of education in the country. In a recent meeting, the committee invited suggestions from the heads of various constitutional commissions regarding the proposed School Education Bill.
The meeting saw participation from key figures, including Devraj Bishwokarma of the National Dalit Commission, Ram Bahadur Thapa of the Indigenous Peoples Commission, Bijay Kumar Datt of the Madhesi Commission, Bishnu Prasad Chaudhary of the Tharu Commission, Dr. Ram Krishna Timilsina of the National Inclusion Commission, Kamala Parajuli of the National Women's Commission, and Samim Miya Ansari of the Muslim Commission.
Their collective recommendations emphasized the importance of incorporating elements such as patriotism, traditional knowledge, and ethical teachings into the school curriculum. Furthermore, they underscored the need for educational programs to address gender-related issues and promote inclusivity.
The committee has taken these suggestions seriously and is considering amendments to the School Education Bill in line with the valuable input received from the constitutional commissions. This collaborative effort reflects a commitment to enhancing the quality and relevance of education in Nepal.
