The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has halted providing affiliation to new nursing colleges until a new heath policy is put in place.
According to member secretary of CTEVT, Ram Hari Lamichhane, "The CTEVT has decided to stop granting affiliations to the nursing colleges until a new health policy on the improvement of health education is formulated". With this decision, the affiliation of four nursing colleges, which was at the final stage, has also been stopped.
According to member secretary Lamichhane, the affiliations of Lifeguard Nursing Campus, Biratnagar, Mirchaiya Nursing Campus, Siraha, Asian Health Foundation Lalitpur and Bharatpur Community Nursing Campus Chitwan, have been deferred.The CTEVT had finalized the process of granting affiliations to these colleges.
The CTEVT has stopped granting affiliation to the new nursing colleges in line with the decision of the Social Committee of the Council of Ministers on September 1, 2015.
According to the Committee's decision, the new affiliation will be provided once the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Population come up with new policies, said Lamichhane.
