In a ceremonial event held on Falgun 23, President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to 16 newly appointed ministers, including three Deputy Prime Ministers. This significant swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace, where ministers from various portfolios pledged their commitment before the nation's leader.
According to Article 80 of Nepal's Constitution, President Poudel, on the recommendation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, appointed these ministers to their respective positions. Among those who took the oath were Suman Shrestha, the Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, the Minister for Youth and Sports.
The event witnessed the presence of Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Dahal, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, as well as leaders from various political parties, including KP Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal.
In the first phase of the cabinet reshuffle, ministers from different political factions, such as Hit Bahadur Tamang from the Maoist Center and Dol Prasad Aryal from the National Independent Party, were sworn in on February 21. As part of this reshuffle, Girija from the Nepali Congress has been appointed as the Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, while Tamang will lead the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, and Aryal will oversee the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security.
