The Nepali Army (NA) is set to grant scholarships to residents of Changunarayan Municipality in Bhaktapur District who wish to pursue technical education at its Kharipati-based academic institution- the Nepali Army School of EME Polytechnic (NASEMEP).
According to the Municipality, NASEMEP has agreed to award scholarships to four local students, two for the Diploma in Automobile Engineering and two for the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. A seven-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between Changunarayan Municipality and the NA’s school to formalize this arrangement.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the municipality by Jeevan Khatri, Mayor, and Mohan Kumar Shrestha, Chief Administrator, while Lieutenant Colonel Anup Dangol signed on behalf of the NA’s school.
Under the MoU, the Municipality will provide a full scholarship for one student in each of the two diploma programs, covering 50 percent of the tuition fee per student. NASEMEP has agreed to allocate additional quotas for both programs to Changunarayan Municipality.
Mayor Khatri shared, noting that local students will have access to technical education through these extra seats beginning this year. As the school has currently opened the admissions, Municipality has issued a notice inviting interested and eligible candidates to apply for the scholarship programs.
