The National Assemlby (NA) unanimously passed the 'Bill on Yogmaya Ayurveda University, 2076 BS'.
Earlier, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel tabled the bill at the NA meeting for consideration. Following this, the NA meeting passed unopposed after the theoretical discussions on it.
Taking part in the theoretical deliberations, Nepal Communist Party lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari said that the bill was not fully clear on the fundamental principle of the university.
Dr Bimala Rai Poudel, Ram Preet Paswan, Prakash Pantha, Badri Prasad Pandey, Radheshyam Adhikari, Khagendra Puri, Udaya Sharma Poudel and Jiban Budha also took part in the deliberation.
Following the points of the lawmakers, Minister Pokharel responded to the queries raised by the lawmakers and argued that the bill was prepared on the basis of need of philosophy, cultures and nature.
He also promised to incorporate the recommendations offered by lawmakers. The next meeting of the National Assembly shall held at 2:00 pm on Monday.
