The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has requested details from the Election Commission and the executive committees of political parties for the ease of taking action against teachers affiliated with political parties.
The Ministry has informed about the decision to seek information about the office bearers of all central, provincial, and district-level executive committees of political parties from the Election Commission.
The Ministry has requested details of the teachers who have been involved in political affiliation to ensure proper action against those with political affiliations. The details requested are expected to facilitate further action in line with the commission's records.
Once the details are received from the Election Commission, the Ministry will examine the information regarding teachers and employees associated with political parties, along with details of the office bearers of political parties' executive committees. Upon examination, if it is found that teachers and employees are serving on political party executive committees, actions will be taken in accordance with the Education Act, up to removal from their positions.
In previous instances, the Ministry had already sent letters to all the education development and coordination units located in districts to initiate action according to correspondence. Some district units have already initiated action based on correspondence.
A decision was made at the ministerial level to continually take action on additional complaints related to the submission of resignation letters from the positions and other similar requests. The Ministry aims to fulfill the state's responsibility of providing effective and quality education by removing political interventions in the education sector, and it expects cooperation from all levels of government and stakeholders.
