​Minimum Eligibility criteria for the affiliation of MBS-TU Program

Faculty of Management, Examination Controller Division, Tribhuvan University publishes a minimum eligibility criteria for the affiliation of Master of Business Studies (MBS) program.

The college must have run BBS program atleast for 6 years. If it has got affiliation from other universities or is running +2 program, the college wont be allowed to run MBS program at the same time and same venue. For the details, please view the notice below:

Affiliation fee:

• Outside Kathmandu Valley: Rs 250,000
• Inside Kathmandu Valley: Rs 500,000

Minimum Requirements for Affiliation to Postgraduate (MBS) Program

1. The proposed campus where the MBS program is to be operated must have completed at least six years of the operation of the Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) program. An institution that has operated any program of any other university and a 10+2 program may not operate them at the same place and time.
2. The land, buildings, and sports infrastructure required for the campus's operation must be owned by the campus itself. If it is operated on rent, legal documents with a lease agreement for at least 10 years must exist.
3. Of the total number of teachers required to teach the subjects specified in the curriculum, 75% must be full-time (Full-Time) teachers of the campus itself who have not worked full-time in any other institution with the qualifications determined by Tribhuvan University. A commitment letter and a memorandum of understanding or appointment letter with each full-time and part-time subject-based teacher who has the qualifications determined by Tribhuvan University must be submitted.
4. The BBS program, which is being operated compulsorily according to the Tribhuvan University regulations, must be renewed.
5. The academic track of student enrollment and graduation numbers (Academic Track) in BBS in the last five years must be mentioned.
6. At least three of the total number of teachers must have an M.Phil. / Ph.D. degree or have sufficient research experience.
7. There should be a library arrangement with at least one book for every three students in each subject, and teaching will be based on the number of students enrolled. There should also be one international and three national-level related journal (Journal). An e-library should be arranged as far as possible.
8. There should be a computer lab with at least 25 modern computers and a full-time teacher. Students should have access to the Internet and other useful services during the allotted time during the study period.
9. If the campus runs 10+2 and BBS programs, the 10+2 programs should have been completely removed.
10. The entire service fee to be submitted to Tribhuvan University after enrolling students in the educational programs affiliated to Tribhuvan University must have been fully paid.
11. All the promoters of the institution should have a full commitment letter and a personal and collective accountability letter for running the program.
12. There should be campus management regulations that do not conflict with the Tribhuvan University system.
13. The campus master plan (Master Plan) and campus management plan (Campus Management Plan) should be prepared and submitted.
14. For the operation of the program, a separate management committee with representation from the Faculty of Management should be formed.
15. The rules and regulations laid down by Tribhuvan University and the Faculty of Management from time to time must be strictly followed.
16. In the case of places where constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University are operated, if it appears that the operation of a constituent campus will have a direct or indirect negative impact, the recommendation for affiliation will not be made.
17. Colleges/campuses applying to run the MBS program must submit a voucher along with the application for the fee of Rs. 50,000/- for the on-site study to the current account number 04500100099060000001 of the Dean's Office of this Faculty, Kirtipur, along with the application.
18. The Affiliation fee applicable from 2065/066 for MBS affiliation is
    1. For inside the valley: Rs.5,00,000/-
    2. For outside the valley: Rs.2,50,000/-
