3,841 Graduates Awarded Degrees in the 3rd Convocation of Mid-West University

Mid-West University celebrated its third convocation ceremony at the university's central administrative building complex in Kuinepani on  Friday, March 7, 2025.

A total of 3,841 graduates from various faculties and programs were conferred with degrees from the Honorable Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University, KP Sharma Oli in the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, the Honorable Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University, KP Sharma Oli, highlighted the long history of civilization in the Karnali Province. He inspired the graduates to contribute to the welfare of society and the nation continually and to move forward on the path of further progress.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mahendra P. Lama, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging graduates to break down barriers and move forward on the path of prosperity. He emphasized that Mid-West University has the potential to establish a unique identity in the academic landscape.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dhruba Kumar Gautam welcomed all esteemed guests and provided an overview of the university’s current status, academic programs, and future plans. The ceremony was facilitated by the university’s Registrar, Prof. Dr. Shobhakhar Kandel.

The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mahendra P Lama, the founding Vice-Chancellor of Sikkim Central University and a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, alongside the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Dhruba Kumar Gautam.

The event saw the participation of the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yam Lal Kandel, honorable ministers, university senate members, officials, professors, staff, students, journalists, and other distinguished guests.

Prior to the convocation, the 16th senate meeting of Mid-West University was held.
