Mid-West University Faces Operational Standstill as Central Office Lockdown Persists

In a continuation of the deadlock, six additional student organizations have been unsuccessful in unlocking the central office of Mid-West University, where a lock has been in place for the past three months. Since Asoj 12, multiple student groups have been advocating for the removal of the lock on the university's central offices, without success.

The persistent lock has left the Vice-Chancellors, Registrar's office, and the offices of the Deans of the Graduate School, Directorates, Service Commissions, and other key university offices inaccessible. This extended period of closure has brought daily administrative operations to a standstill, significantly impacting educational programs.

Despite 14 formal and informal discussions and dialogues conducted by the High-Level Discussion Committee of the Professor's Association and the Student Union in collaboration with the university, no decision has been reached, according to the university's Registrar, Prof. Dr. Narayan Prasad Paudel. He expressed concern over the complete halt in educational and administrative activities at the central office and various officials offices for the past three months.

Registrar Paudel highlighted the financial implications of the lock, stating, "The non-release of the second trimester budget for the fiscal year 2080/81 has hindered various allowances, operational expenses, and payments to officials, professors, and staff."

Assuring a resolution within the next two days (until Poush 18, 2080), Paudel called upon professor and student organizations to support the unlocking process. He emphasized a plea for dialogue and cooperation, stating, "I appeal to everyone to resolve the issue through discussion, and within two days, the lock will be opened. I urge everyone to cooperate with the movement."

In a final note, Paudel asserted, "The university's stance on the shutdown has been publicized, and after two days, following the decision of the university's entire administration, the lock will be broken, and the office will resume efficient operation in coordination with the administration and security agencies."
