In this post we are giving you information regarding various medical science research journals that are published by different medical colleges or research institutions or medical associations and groups in Nepal. We have done some research and search the index of Nepal journals online (Nepjol) and found following medical research journals which are published or in the process of publication. Nepal Journals OnLine) is a service to provide access to Nepalese published research, and increase worldwide knowledge of indigenous scholarship.

    Asian Journal of Medical Sciences is published by Department of Microbiology Manipal Colleges of Medical Sciences, Pokhara. The inaugural issue of this journal was published in May 2010. It is Included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Index Copernicus and Google Scholar

    Health Prospect is a peer reviewed Journal of Nepal Public Health Student's Society' which is formed by Public Health Students of Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj which has a decade long history. Recently the 11th issue of this journal has been published. It has contained articles (research article, review article, viewpoints) from Students, recent graduates and Teaching Faculties. Articles from other subject area has been accepted on their relevance to theme this of publication.

    It provides occupational health physicians, ergonomist, nurses, occupational hygiene, health and safety professionals with a dependable single source of proficiently written legal, practical and management occupational health information.
    IJOSH welcomes original research submissions which relate to the full range of chemical, physical, ergonomic, biological and psychosocial hazards in the workplace and to environmental contaminants and their health effects and the safety standards and interventions. Research aimed at improving the evidence-based practice of occupational medicine and research on the development and application of novel methods, including biological and statistical techniques are also of interest. In addition, we publish systematic reviews, editorials, commentaries and letters to the editor, which provide a forum for debate.
    IJOSH is adopted as the official journal of the Occupational Health and Safety Society of Nepal (OHSSN).

  3. Journal of Nepal Paediatric Society
    Journal of Nepal Paediatric Society is publsihed by Nepal Paediatric Society (NEPAS). The Journal of the Nepal Paediatric Society is published twice a year by the Nepal Pediatric Society and is the oldest speciality journal of Nepal. Its history dates back to 1982 when the first issue was published on the occasion of the establishment of the society. The aim of this journal is to publish work by members of the society and also by non-members or organizations who have worked in the field of Paediatrics.

    This journal was previously named as "NEPAS Journal" but now has been changed to "Journal of Nepal Paediatric Society" in accordance with the international guidelines of the ISSN. 
    The journal now accepts online submissions using this website.

  4. Journal of Kathmandu Medical College
    Journal of Kathmandu Medical College is a multidisciplinary, peer reviewed, open access, quarterly journal which publishes a wide range of scientific works including original research papers, case reports, reviews, audits, editorials, book reviews and articles from medical students. It includes work from basic science, clinical science, dental, nursing and other related medical fields.

    Medical Journal of Shree Birendra Hospital is a Official Journal of NAIHS (Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences). Medical Journal of Shree Birendra Hospital (MJSBH) an official, peer reviewed, biomedical journal of the Nepal Army since 1998.     Description
    We believe that every paper conveys scientific values in their own ways, if some paper are written or expressed in nicer way; others have something special to contribute. Hence we equally appreciate every paper verifying from most scientific research papers to simple yet teaching like case reports.
    Types of articles
    This journal will publish entire range of articles from original research articles, case reports, review, systematic reviews, current commentaries, brief communications, tips and techniques, personal perspectives and letter to the editor along with wide range of news, book reviews, biographical, historical and educational articles, annotation, personal practice, practical procedures and a lively correspondence section from the editor from all areas of obstetrics and gynaecology, including perinatology, endocrinology, related pathology, endoscopies and community research. Reviews are welcomed; however, the Editor-in-Chief will be willing to discuss potential review articles with authors who would like to make such contribution.

  7. Nepalese Journal of ENT Head and Neck Surgery
    Nepalese Journal of ENT Head and Neck Surgery (Nepalese J ENT Head Neck Surg) is a biannual official publication of Society of Otolaryngologists of Nepal. It publishes ENT and Head and Neck Surgery related original articles, case report, medical education or audits, review articles, how I do it section, book review and letter to editor.

  1. Nepalese Journal of Ophthalmology (ISSN 2072-6805, E-ISSN 2091-0320)
    The Nepalese Journal of Ophthalmology was launched in January 2009. It is a free-access semi-annual peer-reviewed academic journal of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society. This journal aims to provide an additional opportunity of sharing knowledge and experience amongst the ophthalmic professionals as well as to help disseminate findings of research achievements in the ophthalmic field at home and abroad. The society and the editorial board do not take any responsibility for any expressions published in the journal. These expressions are solely ascribed to the authors.
    Original articles, short communications, case reports/brief communications and review articles of merit from contributors all over the world are accepted for publication after anonymous peer-review.
    Research works involving human subjects and animals should meet international norms and the terms of Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association. Approval from the institutional/ethical review board and informed consent from the subject/s of study must have been obtained for all experimental studies and articles based on these studies. The Nep J Oph Editorial Board may request the principal author/corresponding author to provide such documents during the process of publication of the manuscript under certain circumstances.

  2. SAARC Journal of Tuberculosis, Lung Diseases and HIV/AIDS

    SAARC Journal of Tuberculosis, Lung Diseases and HIV/AIDS is the official journal of SAARC TB and HIV/AIDS Center (STAC) which is published every six-months. It publishes original articles, review articles, short reports and other communications related to TB, Lung diseases and HIV/AIDS. The journal welcomes articles submitted on all aspects of Tuberculosis, lung health and HIV/AIDS including public health related issues such as cost benefit analysis, health systems research, epidemiological and interventions studies.

    Journal of Nepal Medical Association is an internationally peer reviewed biomedical journal of Nepal Medical Association indexed in MedLine/PubMed. This is the first and oldest medical journal from Nepal since 1963 AD.

  2. Nepal Journal of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology ISSN 2091-0231 
    Official Journal of the Society of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists of Nepal (SODVELON).
    The Nepal Journal of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology (NJDVL) is a scientific biomedical journal, published once a year by the Society of Dermatologists Venereologists and Leprologists of Nepal (SODVELON). It aims to publish and disseminate information on all aspects of diagnosis and management of skin diseases, and information on scientific research related to dermatology.
     It is published yearly in the month of March/ April.

    The official journal of the International Nepal Epidemiological Association (INEA). 
    The Nepal Journal of Epidemiology is a international journal that encompasses all aspects of epidemiology. The journal encourages communication among those engaged in the research, teaching, and application of epidemiology of both communicable and non-communicable disease, including research into health services and medical care. Also covered are new methods, epidemiological and statistical, for the analysis of data used by those who practise social and preventive medicine.
