A total of 85 seats remain vacant for MBBS study in the medical colleges affiliated to TU.
The open house counselling that was run for three days in Institue of Medicine had requested with the students to prefer their college of choice.
Among 582 total seats in 8 medical colleges of TU, 497 seats have been filled. Previously only IOM and Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences had full students in the seats available. Untill the Sunday’s counselling session, all of the colleges except two have got their seats filled. The two collegs that still have many seats vacant are Janaki Medical College of Janakpur and National Medical College of Birgunj.
IOM has implemented a fixed cost of 38 lakhs 50 thousand inside the valley and 42 lakhs 45 thousand for outside the valley for the MBBS program from this academic session. The medical colleges had also cleared their renewal charges after IOM ordered them to or else which would affect the seats number determination.
The decision on 85 seats would be made with the Janaki and National College after a next round of counselling by IOM.
