Manmohan Technical University's First Academic Session on Baisakh 2079

Manmohan Technical University (MTU), Budhiganga, Morang is preparing to start its first academic session at the School of Engineering from Baisakh 2079. The university is asking for enrollment of 24 students each in Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and  Bachelor in Civil Engineering programs, with application starting on February 15, 2022.

Manmohan Technical University was founded in 2076 BS with the goal of making technical education more accessible and practical. The university, formed by the administration of Province No. 1, has become Nepal's first technical university, with the goal of generating trained labor needed for the province's and nation's economic success and prosperity.

Dr. Subash Pokharel, Vice-Chancellor of the university, announced that the institution will have three schools: School of Engineering, School of Applied Science and Technology, and School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.

It has also been stated that the university's future ten-year educational action plan, as well as the curriculum for various programs, have been designed. BE programs in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer / Information Technology Engineering, Bachelor in Medical Laboratory, and Bachelor in Engineering will begin under the first five-year plan (2078-82 BS). The university also intends to offer five postgraduate programs, including an MSc in Power Systems Engineering, an MSc in Environmental Health and Safety, an MSc in Natural Resource Management and Development, and an MSc in Health Policy, Innovation, and Management.

Under the Second Five Year Plan (2083-87 BS), the university intends to add six undergraduate programs, including a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering, a Bachelor of Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, a Bachelor of Agriculture / Forestry, a Bachelor of Optometry, a Bachelor of Hotel Management, and a Bachelor of Hotel Management. Similarly, five post-graduate programs are being incorporated: Masters in Transportation and Tunnel Engineering, Masters in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Masters of Pharmacy, Masters in Public Health, Masters in Chemical Technology, and Doctorate programs in Structural engineering, Transportation engineering, Public Health, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, and Natural Resources.

The university believes that the high-quality technical workforce it produces will contribute to the prosperity and economic progress of the entire country, and that it will become a model technical university in South Asia.
