In a significant move to enhance higher education opportunities and promote research-based studies, Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology, located in Makwanpur, has launched an extensive educational program for post-graduate students. The university aims to provide valuable financial support to its students, offering monthly scholarships of up to Rs.30,000.
In the current academic year, the university has extended a warm invitation to postgraduate students, offering a monthly scholarship of Rs.25,000, along with an opportunity for 32 deserving students to advance their educational pursuits. This initiative was unveiled during a recent study program organized within the district, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering global competitiveness.
Madan Bhandari Science and Technology University's President, Prof. Dr. Rajendra Dhoj Joshi, announced the commencement of this ambitious program, highlighting the institution's dedication to becoming a world-class university. To fund this endeavor, the university has set an impressive goal of collecting one billion rupees from at least 1,00,000 people, primarily through support funds.
Prof. Joshi further shed light on the university's financial progress, revealing that it currently possesses assets worth Rs.30,00,000 and occupies a sprawling 280-acre campus, with three fully-equipped facilities. Notably, the land for the university was generously provided by the local Shwachchanda Bhairab Secondary School, a testament to the community's commitment to educational development.
The government of Nepal has also demonstrated its support for the university's expansion by allocating a budget of Rs. 94 million for physical infrastructure. Additionally, an ambitious project titled "Nakottar Naya Vidya Kala" aims to explore mind-based study approaches to transform forest areas into income-generating assets. To facilitate this project, a state-of-the-art laboratory has been established within the university's premises.
Nambhu Adhikari, the finance chief of the university, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming undergraduate and postgraduate classes in organic agriculture. Recognizing Nepal's status as an agricultural country, the university intends to research and implement organic farming systems, contributing to the nation's agricultural growth.
One of the university's unique features is the introduction of a no-promotion and permanent staff policy, emphasizing a merit-based approach to encourage staff productivity. Additionally, the university plans to conduct 150 research classes, advancing knowledge and innovation in various fields.
